Before The Margin Lab I co-founded, scaled and exited a global events brand, acquired and turned around a venue, ran and exited a restaurant, and built and operated founder-led ventures from the ground up.

I started The Margin Lab because owner-operators rarely get access to the financial depth that larger companies take for granted, and almost never from someone who has stood where they stand.

Most advisers bring one side or the other: the operator who knows the floor, or the analyst who knows the spreadsheet. Owner-operators need both, someone who can find the margin in the numbers and knows what it actually takes to capture it in a working business.

The work is practical. I start with your numbers rather than a framework: where the money comes in, where it leaks, and which few levers will move your margin furthest. Then I help you pull them, whether that means repricing, renegotiating with suppliers, tightening rosters or rebuilding your reporting so you can see what’s happening week to week, not quarter to quarter.

The Margin Lab is deliberately small. You work with me directly, not a junior team, and every recommendation comes from someone who has lived with the consequences of his own business decisions. Small, focused changes which are made deliberately and consistently, translate into compounding change. That’s the whole idea.
